Not recommended, but…

When I last left you (two weeks ago), I was struggling to get myself back on track. Not easy, since the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are really fraught with peril!
Ah, but the good news is that I’m back on track. The bad news is that I had to get really sick to get there, and I wound up screwing up my vacation on top of it.
So, as the title suggests, I wouldn’t recommend ill as a way of getting on track, but boy, it does work (there’s something about five days of intermittent high fevers that really depress the appetite). The bummer is that I had so few symptoms besides the fever that I wound up waiting four days before going to the dr’s and finding out I had an asymptomatic urinary tract infection. Now that I’ve been on industrial-strength antibiotics, I’m feeling better and am eating better.
I’m going to do my next weigh-in on January 1st. Now to catch up on all my diet blog reading!

My mom loses weight when she’s really stressed out. After my dad left her she lost at least 20 pounds. So again, not recommended, but the all-stress diet is really effective too.

Bummer of a way to spend the hols, good that you’re feeling better though.

Good to see you back online and glad you’re on the mend. I usually gain weight when I get sick because I normally eat to feel better anyway and being sick sends that impulse to the max. Lately, though, busy + excited = losing weight without dieting. If I could map how this works, I’d be a millionaire.
